Thanks for the LA contacts everyone. I would like to extend that question out to Orange County area. In particular the Costa Mesa area. I know about Kura Sushi but its a conveyor belt style as opposed to water belt style that I'm looking for.

Not sure about little boats, but if you looking for the freshest and best tasting sushi go to California Beach on Lido Island. Guaranteed the BEST. I have been going there for 8 years and have never ever been disappointed.

there's a place called "Afloat Sushi" in Pasadena.

i don't know the name, but i'm going there tomorrow night so i can get back to you. but i do know that it is on bristol next to staples and the closest cross street is sunflower. hope that helps!
