the more you use the brain, the more the brain builds connections between parts of the brain, and the easier it is to do many functions

the brain is like any other organ - if you don't use it, it's capabilities deteriorate.
and the more you stimulate and work the brain out, the very LEAST you could do is maintain yourself at a constant level

it doesn't do anything incredible, don't get me wrong, but what little it does, is pretty decent

The brainteasers it features are basically like a workout for your brain, to stimulate your thought and get you to concentrate.
