If this is the only car that triggers nausea, there are two possibilities. One is the driver's sloppy driving habits.

The second is odor. If there is a problem with the car's exhaust system it could be leaking deadly carbon monoxide into the interior of the car and causing your sickness. Please have her take it to a muffler shop for a free inspection (at least Midas does it free...find a reputable shop, not one that will just want to replace the exhaust system).

There could also be molds or lingering odors from a passenger that smoked in the car. A thorough cleaning and shampooing of the interior may help with this.

Here is a condensed list of other anti-carsickness tips to try AFTER you ask her to make sure no health risks are involved.

1. Acupressure bands on your wrists - but not right on the wrists like a watch/bracelet....about three finger widths in from the skin fold between your hand and wrist (palm up). You can make your own with a piece of cloth with a dried bean pressing on the right spot.
2. Roll down the window.
3. Avoid sodas and other bubbly drinks.
4. Take along some olives or lemon slices.. when you feel queasy, just pop a couple in your mouth. It block the excess production of saliva (which triggers the nausea).
5. Take slow, deep breaths. Rapid breathing makes symptoms more pronounced.
6. Slouch in the seat. The motion from the side windows hits the eye at an unusual angle and causes the symptoms of motion sickness.
7. Only look out the windshield

Are you riding in the back seat and are accustomed to riding up front. This can do it.

If you are young and sit low in the seat. Sit on a cushion. Not being able to see out well can do it.

Is there a smoker that rides in Her car? The smell can do it.

Lack of fresh air can also contribute to it.

I am 65 and can occasionally still get car queasy. As a child I traveled with brown paper bags.

Do you have motion sickness on carnival rides? But if it is only her car maybe it really isn't motion sickness. How old is her car, does it have a particular smell?

Some NON DROWSY DRAMAMINE should help. Get the Non Drowsy or the other one will put you to sleep. Try chewing gum or taking an ant acid, it might help.

Good Luck

crack the window a little, even if it's cold outside. it's possible there is something wrong with her car too, like exhaust fumes coming inside the car from a bad muffler or something. The fresh air will help regardless.
