i have a wired router (dlink- DI604) and a wireless router (linksys wrt54g). my mom wants to buy a labtop to surf the web in another room then the wired router is in, so she bought a wireles router now can i just plug a cord into one of the 4 ports on the wired router to a port (which one?) on the wireless router? i want to keep the wired router in place for the main PC because of security reasons.
thanks!

I would just plug it in to your current set up or why don't you just take the wired router out and use the wireless router, if it is a router and has ports in the back it will work for both you and her.

The rule is only One Router per segment.
Use the Linksys instead of the Dlink.

No reason to keep your old wired router. You can configure the security on the wireless fine.

Jakester was mostly right... you need a roll over cable to tie the wireless and the wired together... Also look to see if there is an 'uplink' port or button... Have fun!
