well as a new year promise , i promised i would give up smoking and so would he, but he smokes weed to (he is a pothead) so hes only quitting one thing while i quit all i have. so is it fair that he still gets to smoke sumthing while i have nothing. Old habits die hard.

First of all, you should stop smoking for YOU. not for someone else. because the only person you need to be honest to is yourself. Who cares if he is not willing to give up all of his vices. If you are willing to quit smoking altogether, good for you. Good job on putting your health first.

No it is not fair. But very few things in life are.

Don't give up on your promise to yourself (by the way, smoking is smoking whether it's tobacco, weed or rock).

This isn't part of your question, but ditch the pot-head, more than likely he won't stay employed and what money he does get will go to support his habit not his family, leaving you and the state to carry his load.

Just my opinion.

No it isn't fair. He would be dead in a year or two, and you would still be around bemoaning the fact you saved yourself by not smoking.
