would any college football recruiters recruit this type of player??

Question

A 5'10 defensive end that weighs 230 lbs. If this bodytype wanted to get recruited as a defensive end, what will need to be done for the recruiters to look past the small size? Is there chance that recruiters will still recruit this player?

D 1...prob too small...D 2 maybe D 3 most likely..."this player" needs to be pro active and have his coach help him contact schools...they only go after big time prospects...the rest have to make sure the schools know who they are...id recommend converting to safety.

It depends on how fast and strong this player is. If he can run the 40 under 5 seconds and bench press beyond his own weight, then his size might not be as big an issue. A defensive end with speed is valued because the position is all about the rushing the quarterback and protecting the outside lane against the run.

Probably not. Defensive End needs height. Not only that, you have to be very, very good to even be recruited by Division 2 or 3 teams. They might look at him as more of a linebacker type. But he is way to small to play Defensive End at the college level.

I remember SDSU had a dline player a few years ago that was like 5'7. If you are quick with great strength is can definitely happen. The player will need to add some more weight though and would probably red shirt.

Mostly they sift through videos looking for people smart enough to understand the proper use of pronouns. The most consideration goes to the players that have the best understanding of the English language.
