I will agree we have come a long way in the USA for women. But there is farther to go yet. Sexism/discrimination is still widespread in areas such as women's health care, education, employment, etc. Personally as I am involvied in health care, I hope to contribue there. What area would you make a contribution? And or what would you do or like to see happen?

The single most positive advance for women would be the elimination of the social disease known as feminism. Then women could get on with being women instead of something else who's not really all about either choice, equality or happiness in spite of what they say.

As a male health care worker currently active I was told when I went to community college to be a nures aide how badly I was needed. However, when it came time to getting my license from the state I peaked at the examiners list sitting on her desk and found all the men on it had to do retakes for the manual skills test and all the girls passed hands down.I am being treated like crap by my administrator and nothing I do is ever good enough. So don't go there we've had enough gender bashing in your world. The state california ad on tv feature a big burly male steeling from an elderly person, which I find odd since most women occupy that position.

I'd love it if kids (girls and boys) weren't beaten, raped, and killed (by their relatives or acquaintances, like they are now). Even better, if children could be wanted, loved and protected by their families. I've tried to do what I can to speak up for children, but our society likes to "keep families together".

I'd like to make sure that children and adults had good food to eat, safe water to drink, a safe house and neighborhood to live and work and play in, the education they wanted, the physical and mental health care they needed, a job they liked, people to love and be loved by and the choice to live in peace.

I wish it didn't matter what your gender, race, religion or sexual orientation was-so we could all really live in peace and safety throughout our lives. I think many agree it is wrong to be violent in word and deed, but I think it is also wrong to be quiet when people say and do hurtful things to others...we need to be willing to protect each other from the bullies of the world.

1 advance I would like to see is in the realm of "Positive view of Kohvu." It's a very sensitive subject given the nature and proneness to random fits of wisdom and humor, and it's propensity to spend money on things that, arguably, could wait until later. Still, I feel that a step in the opposite of away from this topic could lead to great things in thea lives of at least one woman. in recent years, this topic has taken a back seat to things like "the glass ceiling" and "weight-loss" and "birth control i can wear;" but in this new year i think the female gender should take a step back and consider their options. What's more important to you, 4 periods a year and looking like that girl from Pirates of the carribean, or being able to laugh and enjoy youself for a period of time limited only by the your imagination and desire for pure joy... nay, ecstacy.

I would like to see women become fully autonomous human beings. I would like to see them overcome the necessity, compulsion, and expectations that they should be the property of men. Some civilized cultures have come somewhat close to this in idealism, but not in practice. Not even close...

This not about hating men. Have all the men you want. Just don't sell yourself to one.

Health care eh?

How about a campaign to promote the most effective method of breast cancer prevention:

Having children before 30 and breast feeding them.

Or how about preventing violence against women by campaigning for women to stop being so violent and emotionally abusive:

http://www.csulb.edu/~mfiebert/assault.htm

And BTW women are by no means discriminated against in health care, they get 65% of the funding despite the fact that men's average life expectancy is seven years lower:

http://christianparty.net/discmen.htm

So much for feminism being about equality eh? More like about blatantly lying to brainwash women into thinking they are discriminated against, then trying to do something about that "discrimination".
