Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Attraction is really all about genetics. Your DNA. All that isn't really important because its what makes you up as a person.
I think it really depends on the amount of time you spend with someone. Sometimes, looks can be decieving and people aren't what they really look like. Other times, people who aren't all that good in looks are actually worth having a go with.
What's really important is if you get along with someone or not, if there is respect between the two of you or not and if you find that person interesting enough you want to get to know them better. Attraction doesn't HAVE to be about looks - it can also be about what attracts you to someone (personality , charm...etc.)

attraction is developed by both genetic and environmental stimulai. people are intuitively programmed to be attracted to those that are most "fit" and suited to best carry out the species. also, people grow accustommed to things that give them comfort. things that bring them this comfort also attract them. to an extent, if you were will hard enough, you could change your preferences for attraction in some daily routine, but it really would be a waste of time, i believe, since you already have an attraction to something else. I hope this helps.

Attraction is partly a choice: a choice to be open to others, but this is done in the subconscious.

If you choose to find the bad in someone, you will never be attracted to them. If you let yourself find the good and bask in that, then, attraction is inevitable.

it can be. have you ever seen someone attractive, then gotten a crush, and then met them, and then realized they were an idiot, and then got turned off, and then no longer felt attracted? it works the opposite way also. you make a choice to be attracted by personality not just physical looks.

I think there is a way to change it. It will take time but it can be changed. For example, I was attracted to certain type of girls, who I no longer craze about.

It can be influenced.

You are attracted to who you are attracted to. I think eventually who you are attracted to can change, your opinions, attractions and beliefs can all change. But attraction simply is.
