If it didn't appear to be interfering with his assignment or studies and if it wasn't bothering anyone around the student, then why not?

Hi,

Sorry but I don't agree with children listening to headphones (or any other distracting behaviour like txting or playing games on phones or ipods) in the classroom. When children are at school they need to be completing their work and paying attention to their teacher.

Well...i do say its distracting. But I do it, cause im a freak of nature! And anyway, its not allowed! But I do it anyway by sticking the cord up through my sweatshirt and it coming out the top and then i put up hy hood and listen!

But thats just me!

If the teacher says it is okay, I don't see why not. There are too many rules these days and unfortunately, all of those rules are turning kids off to studying - no matter how they do it!

as long as the student compleats the assignment and the teacher is not lecturing i see no harm, me myself i always listen to musick while i do homework or chores but if the quality of the work starts to slip from usual it should be reevaluated

i'd have to say no. there's no way to monitor that they are listening to appropriate things while at school, and even though it might be nice for the students, everyone else got through school without doing it.

some think its a distraction, some think it helps them learn..

it depends on the person...
and u cant just tell one person they can listen to it and an other person they cant...

the school rules say you cant...but i personally think you should be able to...
it helps me do my work...because i get to listen to something i like..and not listen to the teacher babble on about something boring...

It depends! If they are listening to "my humps" then I really don't think they are trying to work, but if they are listening to a symphony of Mosart or something, then maby!

No, they could be listening to any/everything!!! At home I do not see a problem with it but, not at school!
