Ok well i read on yahoo answers that if you put sterling silver jelwery in denture cleaner it makes it clean and sparkely...so i tryed this and parts of my chain went sparkley ....BUT other parts went a strange discoloured look any ideas.....plus this chain is solid sterling silver 925

Try this..for silver use toothpaste, your silver chain may have gotten a dirty brassy look, it's just calcium deposits,(at least that was what I was told), so if you use toothpaste and scrub it, the discoloration should come off.

Next time, I wouldn't trust just someone on Yahoo! Answers with a valuable piece of jewelry. Try using actual jewelry cleaner. You can find it anywhere.

try a paste of lemon juice and baking soda, and use a toothbrush to scrub at the parts that are discolored. Good luck!

Why not just use silver polish. You can find it anywhere. They have cloths and polish at K- Mart in the jewelry section.

Boil it with dishwashing soap...It's weird, but my mom said it works..
