Don't listen to what those people say darling, Kate Moss is 5'5 or 5'6 I believe I think it is 5'5 and she is a huge SUPER model don't let something like being 5'5 stand in your way and don't let people tell you you can't do it, because you can if you want it enough. There is no such thing as CAN'T if you want it you can have it, just don't give up, get frustrated or think negative.
And Vic is an asshole. Don't pay attention to him.
Wait I'm sorry she is 5'7 - but it didn't stop her from modeling right? So why should it stop you - it's not gonna stop me.

I am 5'6'' and have often thought of a modeling career. My friend went to an open audition for new models and although she met the height requirement of 5'8" as the bare minimum, she was told that she needs to lose weight. I have read other articles about models needing to be at least 5'8" if they are to have a successful career. But it seems that nowadays, there are all kinds of models with different shapes, heights, weights, etc. (see the new Dove ads). If your dream is to be a model, might as well pursue it with confidence, good luck!!

Realistically, there's not a chance of being a fashion model.
However, yes, of course you can be a model, for catalogs etc. Probably not for whole-body shots, but there's an enormous amount of photography which only covers part of the body.
For that sort of work it's an enormous advantage if you're naturally hair-free, because much of it is VERY close up, so whereas fashion models can usually get off with careful hair removal, it's not nearly so easy if your photoshoot is going to last all day and be really close-up work. It's not at all unknown for photographers to send a model away to shave half-way through the day.

No agency would hire you to be a runway model and it will be very difficult to get an agency at that height of 5'5, but you could do commercial modeling, things on tv, magazines, etc.

There's a slim to nil chance of you being a fashion runway model, but yes, you can definitely still model.
I'm also 5'5, and i modeled to help get myself through school. I did mostly print work, but also a few music videos, because they paid alot of money.
So yes, you can model, and actually be really successful if you don't mind doing print work. Good luck. = )

Not a runway model...Kate Moss is 5'7 and she's one of the shortest runway models out there
Maybe a catalog model or something like that. Good luck! ;-)
Or if you have any GOOD features lol like your feet or hands you can be that type of model too.

Honestly, when i was in my acting agency...they would also do modeling and they would always say...if you want to be a model you have to be ATLEAST and they would really enforce the "ATLEAST" 5'8....
however you can try modeling for petite clothing lines...it all varies...

Not runway, but you might be able to be one for magazines or for fitness. If you want to be a model you should look into it.
