how do i get Lugi in in Super Smash bros. Melee and Mewtwo i need steps?

For Mewtwo, you need to play multiplayer games for a certain length of time or a certain number of matches. I think the numbers are 20 hours or 700 matches. If you use Super Sudden Death mode, the 700 matches go by real quick. Once either requirement is met, Mewtwo will challenge you. Beat him to unlock him.

For Luigi, you need to beat the Mushroom Kingdom adventure mode with a 2 in the seconds area (3:12:99 for example). The exact time doesn't matter, as long as you have either 2* or *2 in seconds. Then Luigi will be the second boss (along with Peach) instead of Mario. Win, and Luigi will challenge you. Beat Luigi to unlock him.

Play VS. Mode 800 times

Method 2-
Now here's a more "difficult" way; but it shouldn't be any more harder than the
other way. Goto Adventure Mode. On the first level, as you're about to cross
into the checkered area, (the finish) look at the timer. If the second number
-- that's "second" -- as in sixty SECONDS to make a minute -- ends with
a "2", Luigi will substitute Mario in the battle. Heheh, it's actually a
pretty funny cut-scene; Luigi steps on Mario's head -- while they're jumping,
and he comes into the fight. Beat Luigi and Peach to unlock him.

1. Play 800 VS mode matches.

2. Play adventure mode, in the first (Mario Bros.) stage when you reach the
goal (flag) make sure the digit that's 3rd from the right in your timer is a
2, the other numbers DO NOT matter, (##:#2:##). You will know you have done
this part correctly because in the following cutscene Luigi will jump on
mario's head, and in the battle that follows, Luigi will be fighting with
Peach in place of Mario. Beat this stage and the rest of adventure mode.
Don't use any continues either.

Either way Luigi will challenge you, then you can beat him to unlock him.



MEWTWO

1. Play 700 VS mode matches (not in a row, just in total).

2. Play VS mode for a total of 20 hours (not all at once, in total). Also this
time is divided among how many players are controlled by humans (NOT CPU!).
So if you have just 1 human player, you play for 20 hours, 2 humans = 10
hours, 3 = 6 hours 40 minutes, 4 = 5 hours. Also DON'T leave the game
paused to do this.

Once you meet either requirement Mewtwo will challenge you, beat him to unlock
him.

How to unlock Luigi: Go across the finish line of the first stage of Adventure Mode (Mushroom Kingdom) and make sure the last digit of your time is a 2. I'd reccommend waiting right next to the finish line until the last digit of the time is a 2 and then crossing the finish line. I mean, you have a whole second to do it! Anyway, when you get to fight Peach and Mario, Luigi will jump up and take Mario's place. Defeat Luigi within one minute and then complete the rest of Adventure Mode to unlock him.

How to unlock Mewtwo: Just play more than 700 vs. mode matches to unlock him. It takes a while, but you'll get there.

the easiest way is to play a bunch of multiplayer games by setting the damage at like 500 and setting stock at 1 life (that is for luigi). for mewtwo leave your gamecube on with the disc in overnight and you should have him (it might take longer though). and fyi mewtwo really isn't that good, the best guy is either roy or marth.
