Hi Rachel...the best way to train kittens to use their litter box (if this is what you are referring to) is to confine them in a small room (e.g. bathroom) with their litter box, food, water, and bedding for a week or two to help them find the litter box easily. An open home/apt can be overwhelming for a kittens small bladder and they will have accidents. Additionally, a small room provides a sense of control over the space so this helps with litter training habits.
It's important to remember to never reprimand a kitten/cat if they have an accident as they only learn to fear that urinating/defecating gets them in trouble rather than the location is the problem. Generally, using the litter box should be a pleasant experience so they never fear the litter box in the future. Anytime they have an accident it's best to quietly clean up the mess and ignore the fact the kittens had the accident so as they never learn to fear you as well.

A vet assistant told me to drop the kittens in the litterbox from about 6 inches above it. (no higher, or they could get hurt) This gets them used to feeling the litter under their paws. Then take the paw and lightly scratch the litter like they would do when they need to go. I've fostered many kittens for the humane society and I've always used this method with great results. Hope it helps you too!

You need a litter tray, a covered one for preference, in a quiet place away from where they eat, if they wee anywhere blot it up with toilet paper before you clean it up [using washing power as a cleaner] put the toilet paper in the litter tray, so it smells of their wee, same with any poop, if you are still in contact with the breeder, go round and get some litter from their mums tray, and put it in yours, they will know where to go then.
if you want them to go outside, you must start with a litter tray, and every day move it closer to the catflap, eventually you can put it outside, but some cats never go for that, they just wont go out in the rain for a pee!
watch out for when they wake up, thats when they will need to pee most, if they look as if they are looking for somewhere to pee, put them in the tray and give them a treat when they do it right, with the right smells in the right place and your help they will be trained in no time!

when they go to the potty on the floor spank them [not hard but hard enough to get the point across] and place them in the kitty litter. After the first or second time they should understand and start going to the kitty litter.

put a little litter tray (one they can get in and out of) where they like to go to the toilet. Cats naturally hide their "business" so they will automatically dig in the litter tray and use it.

Beat the crap out of them I have a cat,and it's stupid i didn't want it but my mom got it, and we got dogs so the cat is now acting like a dog i mean biting shoe's,chasing our feet, eating dog food, and stealing their toys...I know your cat might not be like mine, but this just shows you how stupid they are. I don't think u can train it except to use the litter box not to house train them they aren't as smart as dogs.
