Does cal-state universities requires a high school student to take the ACT test?

Technically, you don't need to take the SAT if you have a GPA over 3.0 and live in California. Depending on your major and how popular it is, you may have to. I believe you can skip classes if you score well enough on the SAT so that's helpful as well.

ACT is just an alternative to the SAT. You can take either one.

No, Cal States only require SAT 1, UCs however require both. And not only do they require one subject test, but 2, math and something else.

The ones are required and the twos(subject) are "strongly reccomended" which means that you pretty much need them to get it. The acts are your choice if u want to take them or not.
