I am able to get uncracked pecans for $1.50/lb...I know of a lady who sells cracked pecans to a place in New Mexico for $6.00/lb + $1.00/lb to take them there. I was wondering if anyone knows about the legal hoops I have to jump through.

cool i wish i Had your problem.
i am assuming you are in Texas.
as i understand it, if you have raw shelled nuts, USDA is not an issue. this is about 3 to 4 truck loads (by weight, i have no idea about volume)
the problem will be transportation, and agricultural permits.
to get the phone number for NM, go to any truck stop. they all sell the rand mcnally truck atlas. in the front of the book, before the maps start there will be a page listing all the permit office phone numbers and probably www addresses.
if you are net competent, i am sure there is an easier way.
i am suspicious of her mark up. make sure this buyer can market your load, and has the money to pay for it.
we truckers get pretty ugly about money owed us.

Looks like you've found a business opportunity... I'd give it a try. As for the legal hoops, you'd probably spend more on an attorney's advice than you would make on selling a few hundred pounds.
