what is the 3 network?
if the phone is an unlocked phone, meaning it can take any SIM from any phone company, then yes

Yes and no. Yes the phoned can be unlocked, but No because if you take it to a phone shop they can only partially unlock it, What this means is that say you want to put a orange simcard in, as soon you take out the orange simcard it will lock back to 3.

The only way to do it properly is to do it via 3 themselves.

Hi there,
I have had to phone direct to "3" themselves for unlock code, the phone will have to be outside the contract time as they are not too happy doing it unless it is.
Code costs £15, not too bad and my daughter now use's the phone on payg.
Hope this helps.

well, they can be opened but you'l have to make sure that the phone is not reported stolen or else it will be barred... if it is your own phone get it unlocked.
