New York, as long as you can live and work in one of the 5 boroughs. Many of my friends have never had a driver's license. Besides New York, there are only a handful of cities with decent enough public transit in the US: San Francisco, Chicago, Boston come to mind.

Any "big" city I'm sure has public transport. It's the smaller ones that do not. Take my town for example...it is a small town in the southern states, and what little we have is spread out everywhere. But, there is NO public transport. No cabs, buses, subways...nothing. You either learn to drive and buy a $300 car, or you get your walking shoes out.

New York City or any large city with a good public transportation system. San Francisco is also good.

canada: toronto, vancouver, montreal.
surreal train systems and all-nite bus service. you pay the same low fare regardless of how far you're going, thus enabling you to live and work anywhere in the city - same with new york.
san francisco: the downside is that you have to pay more depending on how far you travel on the train, and it can get quite expensive. i wonder if that is the case with boston or chicago?

I would have to say Amman, Jordan. You can take a cab and it won't cost alot. Maybe 25 cents. Everything would be close to you. If you like foreign countries and you like to experience new things, I suggest moving to Amman.
