you need homeopathic teething granules froma herb shop (holland and barratt / chemists) - they go in the babies mouth and immediatley dissolve and help relieve pain (works on adult tooth ache too)
give your baby a wet flannel to chew / teething ring
soothing foods to eat - yoghurts etc

Forget all the western and eastern and homeopathic remedies.

THE best thing for teething pain is.....
cucumber!
Strip back the outside to reveal the flesh, make sure its cool (but not cold from the fridge cos thats a bit of a shock to the system).
Let the little un chomp on that like a teething ring.
I found it an absolute godsend when my twins were both teething.
I think there is a natural analgesic in the cucumber which soothes the soreness and eases the pain.

Good luck whatever you decide to do!

Happy Root Beer!

In all honesty the only thing that seems to give my little girl relief from teething is Tylenol or Infant Mortin. I usually give it to her only when she is REALLY fussy and the Motrin is best at night since you only need to use it every 6-8 hours. Other than that you can try the cold teethers, or a chilled washcloth, but my daughter HATES that. Good luck to you and I hope it passes soon :)

Try a frozen washcloth. A frozen bagel also works well. Most children do not like the numbing feeling that the gels and powders give them.

Teething tablets are great, you can also get infant strength orajel. That seemed to work pretty good on my little ones. My oldest daughter had severe problems with her teeth because of no enamel at birth, she used it a lot.

I found that the best thing that worked with my son and i then recommended to all my friends with children was liquid anbesol which i brought over the counter in boots, its an anstiseptic as well as a anaesthetic so it numbs the gums and cleans away any bacteria at the same time

Good luck x

I had exactly the same problem with my son. My sister told me about the teething tablets that you can get from Holland & Barratts. They are homoeopathic, in a white & pink tub of about 500 tiny tablets that melt in the mouth or when in extreme pain you can disolve them in a bit of water and only cost about £2. They are fantastic and definatley the best thing I ever bought.

Baby orajel or little teethers oral pain relief. My son is 3 1/ months old and just started teething. I run it on his gums about 3-4 times a day.

I also found a vibrating teether at babies r us that works wonders!

When mine were teething we froze seedless navel orange sections and let him chew on those. The hard item to chew on helps the teething process along, the cold helps with the pain, and as a bonus oranges are pretty darned healthy.
