The Bible

2007-01-02 09:36:37 · answer #1 · answered by shirley e 7 · 5 7

come on you people, i cant believe your saying the bibles the greatest book ever written! have any of you people ever read the whole book, I'm a catholic, from Ireland, and i don't think its the greatest. yeah I'm sure its "good",but not "greatest"!! i have never read it all because of the force feeding in school as a child mentally put me off, its such a typical answer i cant take anyone serious if they claim the bible is their "greatest" book. if i was to make a comment on it at all i would have to state that the 1st testament is way more exciting than the new. the 2nd is too corny for me with him coming back at the end!!ill admit the 1st is good in terms of originality, all those fights and dragons and hell, made it a great prequel but the 2nd testament let it down,I'm sorry but it did. all that hype about the 1st, of course its going to go to their heads, with all those books sold it would go to any ones head, that's only natural, but all I'm saying is that they shouldn't have gotten all cheesy in the sequel, yeah it had its moments with the demons in the animals, that was trippy stuff but with him coming back at the end, its almost too cliched for me. what can i say i dig originality.

my greatest book?

I agree with bearfreak but in the running should be a book written in the 1950's called THE WAY THINGS WORK which teaches you how to make everything frome soap and vinegar to a simple lathe. And myriad other items.

Try Duncton Quest by William Horwood. Part of the Duncton Chronicles, it takes you on a journey that will change how you look at wildlife, forever.

Personally, for me, its The Tao Te Ching, but I doubt anybody else wants to hear that!

Other than that, I loved Johnny Cash: The Autobiography. A brilliant man - my hero.
