I think that one of the stars is Jamie Gertz.I saw it once on t.v. but never caught the title.Its about a Lady (jamie) who comes to a school to help with some of the kids. Im pretty sure its a highschool. Anyways she teaches them for one period a day and she helps them with problems.
i.e. one girl has a step dad that rapes her so they help send her dad to jail
or there is one point in the movie where one kid brings a gun to school and is planning to shoot one of the other kids in the class but the teacher stops them.
In the beginning they whole class is uncooraperative but towards the end they all start getting along and they respect the teacher.
This is also a part in the movie where the school trys to cancel this program because they think it is taking away from their learning but it doesnt and the program stays.
Also at the end they all graduate and they ride around in a limo going to all the old places where they used to live or currently live.

Based on a true story, former parole officer Marilyn Gambrell (Gertz) and a colleague set up a pioneer trial-based program in one of America's toughest high schools to help the children of incarcerated parents regain control of their own lives and not expect the same thing to happen as it did to their parents. To the surprise of everyone, the program works, but the administration warns the duo that it will not last unless every senior student is able to pass his or her final exams and graduate with the class. As the end of the school year approaches, Gertz faces a crisis to save everything she believes in or lose it all.
