im 3 cm and my doct stripped my membranes today. how fast can you start labor or how fast can painful contractions come. what has happened to any of you guys that got the membranes quick..

did you guys do anything extra after the membranes were stripped to get things started? like walking or anything or did the contractions just come on its own... i am 39 weeks and i am sooooo unconfortable and can't wait to go into true labor no matter how much pain it is please respond with helpful info thanks...

Mine started about 12-24 hrs. later. Aren't you excited?? I dont think that it made labor any easier or worse. It just starts it quicker. Congradulations, and I wish you luck.!!!!!

I had my membranes stripped in both of my pregnancies and contractions didn't start for me. I had a little discomfort during the first one that same night, but nothing happened. I was induced on both of my pregnancies. My second one I couldn't even tell. The discomfort was less than menstrual cramps for me. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

I dont know about when your membranes get stipped but i know that I got my water broken for me at the hospital and 15 minutes later my daughter was out! I would think that it would speed things up very quickly for you. I was 2cm for 5 days so if your 3cm and you got the stripping of membranes I would think your going in any time this week

My labor started about 20 hours later, got to the hard labor in 3 hours, and son was born after a total of 10 hours.
(He was my 2nd, which probably helped. This was in 1982!!)

I had mine stripped on a Friday afternoon, Contractions started around noon on Saturday, and I delivered my son on Saturday at 10:13 p.m.

when they stripped mine it did nothing it was 3-4 days before my labor started.

Our son was born 10 days after mine were stripped. Guess it didn't work :P

mine started fairly quickly. all i can really remember is those contractions HURT!!! lol but so worth every pain
