Okay so earlier today I downloaded some stuff from emosims.org (hair, clothes) into the Downloads file and I unzipped them all. When I go into the game to create a sim it shows that I have custom clothes and hair because of the little star thing at the top. The problem is that it's not what I downloaded. Like the hair that I downloaded is just regular hair that's already in the game. Same thing with the clothes. Some of my downloaded stuff appears as the clothes that I did download. And some don't appear at all.

So what's going on? How can I fix this?

Hmm, well it would probably be better to ask this on an actual Sims site/forum. I do know that for the Sims 2 there are two different types of download files you can download. One of the types you do just place in your downloads folder, the other type you double click and it auto installs whatever the file is into your game. Also, the problem could be related to the file itself. Perhaps the creator had an error when they made it? Custom made files aren't always guaranteed to work. If my answer hasn't helped, then it's a good idea to find a Sims 2 forum somewhere to get assistance. I'm sure you'll find your answer there if not here.

This is quite easy. I had a similar experience with XMsims. Each time I downloaded a hairstyle it would show me regular hair. Your'e having this problem becaause you are either downloading the hair colour without the mesh or the mesh without the hair colour. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and download all files properly.

I just checked the site you were talking about and found that most of the files have their mesh seperate from their colours. Look well and you'll see a place that says "mesh" here and a seperate link that says" Download Emo Hair..." Download one then come back and download the other.

You may be better off asking this on the sims2.com BBS. You can find your answer to almost any sim question there.
I'm not an expert at that kind of thing seeing as I don't download, but it may have something to do with the meshes?
