Do people who believe in a vindictive and wrathful God ever think that perhaps they are instilling the same qualites in their children? I personally can remember some kids from My school days who were raised in "fundemantalist" families, and they seemed to be more argumentative and agressive than most of the rest of us!

God was not vindictive and wrathful. Parents teach their kids a lot of things that are wrong.

You really see God as Vindictive and wrathful? God is love and this is what I teach. God only punishes when you do wrong. Just like your mother and father would or should do to a child who does wrong if they love them. How many "fundamentalist" families are you speaking of here? Don't judge a nation by two or three in the group. You haven't met all of us. :-)

These parents are gravely mistaken about God's message. The Quran does not just doom people to Hell and life of misery. In fact no religion does.
All religions are a guide to us to live our lives successfully as good human beings and if we were to stray and cause harm to ourselves and others then there will be consequences, just as there are consequences with everything you do in life.
God first and foremost is Most Merciful. He forgives often and only when a human does not respond to any of His messages does God use punishment to get us humans back on track. But never forget, God loves his own creation, He loves us and He wants to keep us on track.
