1) check that you have paid for the item (make sure it is not some kind of info you are buying into, otherwise check your email)
2) try to contact the seller
3) if got no response, try again and get ready to report the seller to ebay if you did not hear from the seller within eg 7 days
4) report to ebay as item not received, if you paid by paypal, it will link you to their website, and you can file a dispute case
5) wait to see if seller get back to you at this stage, if not, after e.g. 7 days, proceed to claim (there is a time limit, make sure you act within the dead line), and follow instructions on site
6) leave a negative feedback, make the world know about the seller's sin

be wise do NOT send cheque or cash or complete a deal under the table, otherwise it is at your own risk. watch out for zero rating and infomation selling seller; try to use paypal, i know it costs a bit more, but give you better cover and peace of mine if thing does go wrong.

good luck, happy bidding

Oh, I hope you used a credit card through Paypal. That's the safest payment option. If you did:

1. Open a Paypal dispute. Just go to paypal.com, and they'll guide you through it. The seller will have a few days to respond.

2. DO NOT close it until you get the item, or your money back IN FULL, or time is running out.

3. If you do not get your item or your money in the time allowed, close the dispute saying that an agreement has not been reached.

4. Paypal will refund you if the seller has money in their paypal account.

5. If they don't have Paypal money, call your credit card company and dispute the charge. They should be able to credit you.

If you need further guidance, eBay's discussion forums are loaded with knowledgable people who can help you out.

It's a nightmare!! I brought £1000 worth of music festival tickets for me and my mates. I paid through PayPal but then miraculously the seller then became 'deregistered' with Ebay -(because the tickets weren't released until several months after I paid him, apparently my time had expired to do anything about it!)
I was mad- the bloke wouldn't answer any e mails plus he was from bloody Texas and I'm in England! So I got the international yellow pages and tracked him down and rang him - he said he'd wire me the money through Western Union so I waited. A week later I rang again but his gran told me he'd moved to Holland. Still perservering, I used yellow pages and rang every person that had his surname (there weren't many) and I reached his brother who put me through. Eventually he DID wire me £500 but a year and a half on, I'm still owed the rest. And just to take the biscuit, he apparently is now studying at Loughborough University in the UK!! I think you'll have to take this one on the chin, or just keep contacting Ebay - if the seller is still registered, you might have some success.

You need to report the seller. I did this one time after waiting a month to receive my item and in another week I got it. Maybe this particular seller thinks they can get away with keeping your money and not sending the item, but if you report them and ebay starts trying to contact them you will eventually get your item. Good luck.

send an email to the the other party and tell them you will contact paypal and open a dispute if they dont come up with the goods. if u open a dispute then paypal will freeze the sellers account. u can maintain contact with the seller and try to resolve it amicably. i did this 6 weeks ago and had £70 returned to me so it may not be all bad. good luck

How did you pay? You should only pay with paypal very secure and easy to dispute tranactions. Ok first you need to contact seller and ask them what is going on. Because where did you buy it from? Sometimes shipping can take 6 to 8 weeks depening on where and who you bought it from. If you believe you have gotten ripped off contact ebay. If you did pay with paypal contact them. Good luck.

It depends on how you paid for it. If by credit card as I did on some MTG cards, I disputed the transaction with my credit card company after I didn't receive the cards in 2 weeks. They took care of my problem.

If you paid via paypal, then that is going to be harder, I would try to start my claim through ebay instead.

If you used paypal, let E-bay know about the situation, but rely more on Paypal to handle it as far as getting your money back.

Contact the seller and let them know you will report them to E-bay and Paypal (even if you didn't use Paypal) and you will leave them bad feedback!

If you didn't use Paypal, just file a dispute claim with E-bay. It sometimes takes a while to get resolved. If they have had enough claims on one seller, they will be banned from E-bay!

Good luck!

MOST SELLERS ARE GENUINE ON EBAY BUT A FEW DO SLIP THROUGH THE NET...I SENT A CHEQUE OFF FOR £40 FOR A HANDBAG..I NEVER RECIEVED IT I CONTACTED EBAY AND REPORTED IT,I DID MANAGE TO GET A PHONE NUMBER WHICH I CALLED QUITE A FEW TIMES AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS PERSON WASN'T IN..I NEVER GOT MY MONEY BACK BUT IT MAKES YOU MORE WARY ABOUT BUYING ANYTHING ELSE...ALWAYS CHECK THE RATINGS AND FEEDBACK BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO PART WITH YOUR MONEY..AND IT HAS BEEN KNOWN THAT A SELLER GETS SHUT DOWN BY EBAY THEN OPENS UP IN A DIFFERENT NAME ETC..GOOD LUCK IN TRYING TO RETRIEVE YOUR MONEY BACK
