USC has maintained a tradition of not putting the players name on the back of the jersey since the program began. its a hitsory/tradition thing. it has nothing to do with money, rules, the conference, the AD or coach.

I think it has something to do with the level of play. Excellent play makes the number and player stand out. #55 Is a special number at USC and to wear it means alot. USC players make the number known. Does anyone not know who is #8? Most the fans know most the numbers.

Believe me money is not an object for the University of Southern California. Someone or somebody, within the organzation, chose not to have the names on the back of the jerseys.

It is becuase they dont want each player to be recognized individualy but as a team.

because the coach/A.D. choose not to put them on there. There's no rule against it, so they choose not to do it. I imagine it's cheaper in the long run as well.

Because they dont want attention drawn to the individual..... Its a team game.....
