It is a great idea but I dont think that it should be mandatory.
There are certain religions that are against it and some organs might cause for disfigurement (mandating a closed casket) etc.
Some people also think that efforts to keep a person alive might be compromised by the desire harvest new organs.
For these reasons, I do think that the choice should still be up to each individual but it would be nice if there were a place next to your signature on your drivers lic where it could be checked or not checked so that there would be no question.....

NO! its personal decision, not the goverment's. There are alot of different cultures, ethics, and religions out there that have different views about this thing. It cannot be made mandatory. For me, Iam proud to have the words Organ Donor on my driver license =) Although I do believe in spirit and maybe life after death, but doing good to other ppl wont give me back any bad karma.

No. This should be completely voluntary. Plus taking organs from people's body could interfere with someone's religion and how they bury or cremate a body.

While I will be an organ donor when I die, the government should not be involved with a law.

no however my god daughter was able to live that much longer with a transplant! she did die from blood poising but thanks to an unfortunate accident and a tragic loss of someones child she was able to stay here with us for almost a full month after the transplant
i would love to thank all organ donors for the possibility of saving someone else's life! you are a true savior!

No way .... the government already tell us what to do enough and i am sorry it is my body and does not belong to the government to do with as it pleases .. i agree that there is a shortage and it needs addressing but it is human choice not governmental and if the uk has anything to do with this the government will probably charge us for the removal thanks but no thanks

No, some people dont want their organs donated. I personally, think that it would be rude if you took someone's organs if they did not want you to.

No. We are dictated to enough as it is. That should not be made into yet another law.
