Most people who are racist are afraid of being an individual, and therefore have to cling to a click or a group of people. I guess the most basic group would be people of the same race.

Isn't it interesting that if you put children together of different races and backgrounds, before they get brainwashed by parents and the popular culture, they get along fine and friendships are instantly made.

It's not until they start hearing about "this group or that group" of people that they start formulating their beliefs about them.

Or they get taught that if your belong to such and such a race, you are to act like this or like that and dress that way, etc...
That is how stereotypes are formed within a race.

They don't know that there is only one race, the Human Race created by God for God out of love. All the killling and prejudice all comes from ignorance and they are buying in to the fear of someone looking or speaking differently because of the color of their skin or what country they or their ancestors came from.

When will it stop? When they see the truth and who knows when that will be. For some today, for others it will be when they are judged by God.

I'm finding more racism from Latinos in Miami. The best is when it is directed at me. I refuse to call myself Cuban American, just American. My ancestors came from Cuba, but they came here, as said by my grandfather, "like almost every other immigrant", including what gets ripped around here as white. So go figure.

And it is unbelievable the amount of racism amongst the many diverse Latins here. I find it hilarious that many people think all the hispanics come from the same place when we have a whole continent full of hispanic speaking countries.

For some reason, people in a 'minority' group get a free pass being racist. That is sad. We all bleed red at the end of the day.

A part of me believes that rascism will never end because it seems too ingrained in human behavior. It's like we have to have a class of people that we hate and want to deny basic rights to. Without that fueling us, we have nothing.

There is also a part of me that believes racism can never end until Christianity does. So much of bigotry and racism has it roots in Bible passages and the misinterpretation of them. Until people stop abusing Christianity in this way, racism will continue to sow it's seeds.

What you are experiencing happened in history with the, Native Americans, the Irish, the Italians, the Germans . . . so and so on. It will happen with the next people who arrive also. I think it's just the process of human evolution and how we treat each other.

It's still boils down to fear and ignorance. Which will never go away as long as people fall prey to it.

First off, if everyone quit the hyphenated-American crap, that would be a big step; if you're going to be here, be HERE, and be loyal to America. Next, if people didn't act like stereotypes, they would have died out by now(not all of a given group act like stereotypes, but enough do, that they are perpetuated.) Third, how come it's ok for minorities to stereotype whites, but not okay in the reverse? Minorities have all the laws in their favor these days, so there's no logic in it being for the way they are treated. Why then?

I honestly wonder if we can ever rid ourselves of racism. We have parents teaching their kids that being different is wrong from the time they are born. The only thing that brings me comfort is that it's not always effective....my parents tried to tell us that white was the best. I guess I showed them that I didn't agree by marrying a South American. Maybe with each generation, we'll all become one race...the human race.

There is only one race, it the human race. God created male and female. He did not make white, black, asian etc. We are all sisters and brothers in Christ. It is fear and lack of knowledge of people that cause them to do these things. Will it stop only God knows the answer to that question. It can stop if people would only keep the commandments written by Moses. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

Let them talk and say what they will. Show them you're not like them and demonstrate your awareness of this issue by not retaliating to their slurs or outbursts! You need to be determined to take charge and help to overcome this influence. You are God's light and it's up to all of us to demonstrate that in our own lives. Don't worry about them. It is this that starts wars, but crimes in our streets and neighborhoods! Stay away from these individuals and you will see the difference!

In my opinion Latin Americans are beautiful people. Honestly, I don't know if it'll ever stop..they'll always be people out there making fun of Asians or Whites or whatever. But I'm so sorry about your brother's girlfriend.
