People who usally get laptop computers need it because they need to take it around with them. It is small and compact so you can use it if you are cramped for space. If you do not need a laptop because you do not travel with it, I suggest you just stick to a desktop because for the same price of an ok laptop, you can get a really nice fast desktop.
I hope that helps

The best thing is being connected to the internet over a wireless connection, giving you the option to roam freely around your house, out in the yard, etc., or to even connect at a friend's place or at your favorite coffee shop.
The possibilities are endless. You might be wondering why desktops are still popular then. Well, that's because they still have many advantages. For one, heat and size is not an issue, so the fastest configurations are often found in a desktop. They are also easy to upgrade, laptops simply are not.

Two advantages of a laptop vs. a desktop is size and portability, the disadvantages is that it is more difficult to upgrade and more money for the same amount of computing power. To determine a good desktop or laptop configurationi for you, check out comprec.com

Your naming the best parts already, not to mention that free wifi is available almost everywhere so you may be able to get Internet access really easy while on the go. The convience of a laptop is overwhelming once you make the jump and get one. You can get a wireless router and move anywhere in the house while on the Internet.

Laptops are good because of their portability. And all the reasons you said. You can also buy a GPS system to go onto your laptop so that you can see how to get somewhere from your laptop.

For all the reasons you said. Plus it doesn't take up much space. Plus you can use it on the road if you are not the one driving. Plus you can get outside and use it. The one thing people need to do is get out more. More it be nice to spend the day actually outside and still be connected.

You answered your own question. Size, portability and convenience, and fewer wires.
(Sounds to me like your husband is the one who wants a laptop.)

well, before you leave to another place with your laptop, make sure it's fully charged. just in-case that there is an outlet sumwer, bring ur charger along with u. if there is an outlet in ur car, u can charge it there, but, an adaptor is required. u can buy that at your local electronic store. for example, best buy, circuit city, wal-mart, etc.
