use your antivirus software to rid of the virus then do a system restore. been there myself!

OPTION 1) Check your hardware

OPTION 2) IF its not a hardware problem, plug your hard drive into another comp(with up to date anti virus). Scan ur drive and repair it.

OPTION 3) If not, then, plug your drive into another computer and backup all ur files, reintall ur sytem and restore the files u jst backed up.

OPTION 4) If none of the above work, format your drive and reinstall everything

If you plug the hard drive into another computer and get the files off that you need, you can reformat and reinstall with the OEM branded XP disc which your computer came with. if you don't have one, then you'll have to buy a new copy. (XP)

Some drive problems can be easily fixed by yourself using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.
