can you make an acoustic guitar have distortion??

One with an amp jack on the bottom.....can it have distortion?

You can run the cord to a distortion pedal and then the amp just like an electric (or any effect pedal for that matter). Getting the sound you really want is another story.....

You can but why would you want to? Since an acoustic has a hollow body the feedback threshold will be at a very low volume, so even if you wanted it dirty it likely wouldn't be able to get vey loud.
