wireless router hooks up to your modem and sends a wireless signal. wireless card hooks up to your computer and receives the signal allowing you to get on the internet.

You have to have both if you want to work wirelessly. If you have a laptop the chances are it probably already has a wireless card in it. So you probably want to start with a wireless router.

A wireless card is some thing that pick up signal to the internet without a dsl wire.
Wireless Router:
A wireless router is something that send signal to a laptop or a desktop. That makes u to get wireless internet. But if u don't have a wireless card u will have to buy one.

A wireless card is the reciever for your computer. The wireless router is the device that your computer connects too. You can not have a wireless network without both.
