You will go around to different booths that will have samples of wedding cake, tuxedo brochures, dress brochures, florists... you name it everything wedding, to diamonds, to champagne, to stationary vendors. You will probably get to see a "bridal show" which women will model the years top dresses, and men the tuxedos of they year (sometimes these serve as the ushers and waiters and such for the show also) It is alot of fun. I used to help set these up so it is a bit different from behind the scenes, but well worth it if you are planning your big day =)

Girl - nationwide its a bridal Festival!

DO THIS- it will save you tons of time.
Eat first- the food sucks! You can't fillup on wedding cakes.
Wear Sneakers!

No purse- empty back pack- take a friend, a disposible camera, several pens and a yellow, blue and pink highlighter to mark the items as you find them, a large zipper ziplock bag..

Create on the PC a sheet of return labels with your Name, Address, Phone# and Wedding Date and City of Wedding

example= Mary Jones, 124 Maple Street, Nashville, TN- Zip
Wedding: 6/17/2007 in Memphis home phone#

[don't use your cell number- they sell these lists]

You stop at every booth for Free prize and waste lots of time filling out that stuff- that label makes life easier and faster if you exchange business cards.
Highlight Keepers ONLY and throw them in the ziplock bag!
Yellow- dress or clothes
Blue- Honeymoon
Pink- Food and gifts
You will have tons of paperwork, so trash it as you know you don't want it.

Have your girlfriend take pictures of you hold a wedding dress in front of you or a headdress or what ever- the "sale" price is most times not as good as going to the store after the event- ASK for a business card with a written and signed discount on it, good for 30 days from the event- most will do that. Really!

Good luck

Bridal shows are basically a place with lots of different vendors who try to get you to buy from them. They have fashion shows with bride/bridesmaid dresses and tuxes. Wear tennis shoes as there is a lot to look at. I've only been to the one in Houston, tx.
