I am 18 and I am going on a trip in late march. I have all the things I need to apply for a passport. Such as birth certificate, pictures, ect. I live in Mass but I am going to be in Florida for the month. Can I still apply for it there? If not, can I give all the stuff to my mom and have her do it back in Mass? Thanks!

when i did mine, i had to be there. if you are going to Florida for a month, you should do it there. it doesn't take very long to apply for a passport. just go to any post office in Florida and apply then and there. the passport will take about 5 weeks or so to get to your home address. make sure you do it now so that if they send it back for more information, you have some time before your trip.
this is if you go through the post office. you might want to look online like the first person mentioned. either way, you should start now.

You need to do it. You need a certified birth certificate, your license or another second piece of ID. I just went to the Post Office here to get one started. You may be able to go to the Post Office in Florida, but why not just go in MA before your trip. Don't put if off or you won't be able to get it by the time you need it.

To apply for a passport, as long as you have the correct identification, you do not need to be present to apply for one. It is done via mail.

You have to do it in person because they will need to take your picture. If you take all the documentation you need, you should be ablel to get one in Florida.
