Why do you think an imperialistic view would be representative of European attitudes toward Africa at that time?

That time meaning when Europeans started to colonize Africa.

History dictates that the history was written by colonial writers so a slanted if not imperialistic attitude pervades the writings we cannot realise only imagine what it was like to be around in the 1900 and before, we must take the attitude of skepticism and try for a balanced view, from my readings colonialist had the attitude that it was for the betterment of the native and for the land, religion played an important element in the forunning of colonialisation of a country ,missionaries being the first wave, they saw this as spreading the word of thier god as the bible dictates they should.
