I saw a 15 gallon nano reef setup at our local aquarium store yesterday, and it was so cool. :) I'm thinking of setting one up, but I only have experience with freshwater tropical fish.

Can anyone recommend any books or websites that can guide me through the process of setting it up? I want to be sure I do it right.

Thanks!

Having kept a micro-reef tank, a piece of advice.
Do not start off with a reef tank. There is much that can go wrong with a reef tank and chances are they will. I am speaking from experience here.
Start off with marine fish only, possibly some invertebrates like shrimps.
While keeping a marine tank is not much more difficult than a freshwater tank, when corals added, the difficulty increases dramatically.
A 15 or 20 gallon tank is good to start. But remember that if something goes wrong in the tank, it will foul the water quickly. Above all else remember to
-Test the water frequently, minimun weekly, best every third day or less.
-Water changes with good non phosphate water.
-Weekly filter and tank cleaning

Don't mean to be a naysayer, but if you don't have reef experience, a Nanoreef is not a good idea, the larger the tank that you start with, the better the chance of success. Find some one who is not trying to sell a Nanoreef to get advice. Aquarium clubs are good sources of information, and are full of people who want you to succeed. As to books on reef care there is an author named Julian Sprung who is as good as there is. Good luck,PeeTee

The Nano-reef.com community has lots of good resources and an active forum full of good tips. The link is posted below. I've used it extensively when working with my nanos.
