Hi There,
I have brought an old ford fiesta (1995) car. Can somebody tell me how much coolant to put in this car ( that runs through radiator). I have purchased anti freeze also... so in how much ratio simple water to be added in it and how much the total quantity can be....

Secondly, I am not too sure about it's location to lid/bos to put it in. I think it is on left upper side in engine in front.

Thanks in advance.

It's recommended that you buy a coolant that is premix with 50% coolant, and 50% water. You should fill it up with 50/50 until it's full. Simple.

Congrats on finding a surviving Fiesta. You should have an owners manual. There should be a table on the antifreeze jug indicating mixtures depending on your climate. I usually mix the antifreeze with distilled water or deionized water and just fill the radiator or resevoir until its full to the marks. Make sure to fill the rad about half full and then start the engine fill it while the engine is running.

Put in 1/2 Gallon Antifreeze. Then 1/2 Gallon of water. Then top off the rest with antifreeze And fill the resevoir bottle up with antifreeze only to the mark on the side of the bottle that says cold. You should be fine with that. Especially since it's winter.

I've had my 1994 fiesta for a week now, and they recommend 50% water to 50% anti-freeze and if you need to top up the level, suggest you use just anti-freeze this time of year.

Hope this helps, Helen

I emptyed my coolant tank by forgetting to put the lid back on......

Lift bonnet, top left hand corner (the big white tank with yellow capbeside the windscreen wash) see attached picture

To fill it to max (you will see min and max when its empty it took 2 x 1L bottles and its always handy to have two spare as I found out...

And dont forget to put the cap back on the coolant tank!!!!

dont put to much anti-freeze in it, it will end up being more valuable than the car.
