It probably wasn't the kid's fault. See, they make the carts with one wobbly wheel. This helps slow you down to buy more. If the cart is loaded wrong it puts a lot of weight smack on the wobbly one. When this happens the cart loses all steering and goes in any direction.

oh man I've gotten hit with a walmart shopping cart and it hurt a ton! I ended up having a huge bruise for weeks because it hit the bone in my ankle.
