The will have you sit in a chair and take one of your arms to look for a vein. at this point look away. the less you watch the less it will hurt. It will feel like a pinch and then it will be over. keep looking away. Remeber to control your breathing so you don't pass out. steady slow deep breaths. Yes your mum can go with you.

Hun don't worry it'll only seem like a big thing if you make it a big thing.
I hate needles too and I have to have a lot of blood tests because I get ill a lot! Although it's not the nicest thing in the world it's defiantly not the worst.
First of all, of course your mum can stay with you!
In the blood test they usually ask you to make a fist or they may make you squeeze a ball or something similar.
Then they insert a really thin needle into the underside of your elbow usually and draw some blood for tests.
You'll probably feel a slight prick and a tiny numbness for a few seconds before they withdraw the needle. They then should give you a wet cotton wool ball to put on your arm and then you leave.
Don't look at the needle because it makes things so much worse and don't freak out about it either because it can make you tense which isn't good.
Just keep as calm as possible and you'll be completely fine.

ahh, the blood test, ive always dreaded that, first of all, have your mom stay with you if your really uncomfortable by yourself, its normal. what they would do is they find the vein in the crease when you would bend your arm, and take a sample of it, its actually a really good way to tell doctors if your healthy, and a way to detect anything bad things in your body system. At first, you might think that the test might never end, but it will end quickly. for the pain, it depends with each person, with how your vein is visible, etc. good luck!
