All the time! I even correct myself when I use bad English. I also correct other people. I corrected my English teacher's handouts once. She wasn't too pleased.
However, I don't correct people who don't speak English as a first language unless they're making a serious faux pas.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It's difficult to tell how well a person even knows English online, so I don't like to judge. And most Americans themselves are probably horrible spellers in the first place.

yeah. It's pretty annoying. I generally notice mistakes but don't say anything. My husband is always correcting me, and it drives me nuts. But that's the only way they're going to learn, right? And perhaps if you're doing it to strangers it's okay. Cause who cares if they get mad at you, right?

Only when they are from another country & don't know the language well, they're always thankful for the help. Others born here, will be what they will be.

Occasionally I will correct someone if they speak poorly or make a faux pax, but in most cases I let is slide.

It depends on how well I know them. If it's a family member - always. A friend - maybe. Someone I don't know really well or an acquaintance then I try not to. *twitch twitch*

yes, actually I do! I believe most people think it is offensive, because you've "tried to prove them wrong" and they get even more offended when they are older than you, and you correct them! they don't like it very much!

Only if it's a close friend and I usually do it in a way that's not condescending and won't cause them to feel stupid.
