You kind of just have to go in with a clear mind. For some people it may hurt, but in order for it to hurt (well pinch) less, tell your gyno you want a smaller speculum. If your a virgin, like myself, it works wondrously..I mean it still is uncomfortable, but it's better than what I had expected.

It is a necessary thing, so you might as well get used to it. A good doctor will make you feel comfortable by speaking with you first with your clothes on, and then letting you get undressed. And a good doctor will make it painless. Doctors are different. If the first one isn't for you, find another. Pap tests should be done once a year if you are sexually active, so go and have it done so you won't worry about it. I am 51 years old and getting tired of them every year, but it sure beats getting cervical cancer.

My large Aunt born around 1900 died around 1980 of cervical maximum cancers. She lived in a small us of a city and the community Dr became male and he or she refused to make certain a male Dr approximately issues "down there". I had difficulty know-how such an recommendations-set then, I even have much extra difficulty know-the way it immediately, extremely from somebody who sounds so youthful! you're saying you hate human beings watching you like that, how do you mean? could you enable a Dr learn your arm or face for attainable dermis cancers? could you refuse different scientific scientific care or basically maximum cancers scientific care? Your physique - your selection, yet in my opinion i will't comprehend your recommendations in any respect!

In my opinion, it doesn't hurt. I get uncomfortable because I don't like having it done. I have a great female doctor. She carries on a conversation with me as she is checking down there. She acts like it is no big deal, so that puts me at ease. It only takes a few minutes anyway.
You'll be alright.

Most women don't like them but in most cases it is more because of the privacy issue than anything. Don't be scared. It's something that is actually good to have done, for your health. I never found it to hurt, but it will likely be uncomfortable for a short while. It is much more comfortable if you relax!

It doesnt hurt it may be a little uncomfortable when they take a long q-tip and brush it against your cervix. It is a little awkward with the doctor standing there looking down below but if you put your mind somewhere else you will be ok!
