The easiest way would be to search for the book's title at IMDB.com, The Internet Movie DataBase. It is extremely extensive. You could also look up the author's name there. If the book's name was changed, it will lead you to the movie as well.

You could always check with Music and books stores, and see if they could research the title and see if it was made into a movie or not. Or maybe check under the author's name, it might say there if his/her book was made into a movie.

Im most cases, you can look up the book on Wikipedia and it will tell you if it has been made into a movie.

If you go to http://imdb.com/ and put in the author's name at the top, in the "Search" box, then search by "Names", it will give you a list of every movie made from that author's books.

it usually says on the cover if it is now a major motion picture.
