i get so annoyed when i have $1 left, but want to get a drink and snack, and there's no atm machine around. sorry. don't know what other category to put this under =)

There are some machines that do take credit and debit cards but they are not wide spread in the U.S. at this time. Coke was supposed to release the credit/debit card vending machine in Chicago but I don't know if they did because I don't live there.
Myself I would be leery of using any card at the pop machine do to skimming. I am leery of using pay at the pump as well.

They already have that in some parts of Europe. Hopefully, it will make it's way over here, but there is a cost involved in processing debit cards, so maybe the US is just too cheap to make that available for a $1 soda.
Did you know that they also have ICE CREAM vending machines in Spain?? I swear, I got a "Drumstick" out of a vending machine in Mogan, Gran Canaria, Spain. It was trippy!!!

I'm sure they will be out soon, because technology is advancing. They already have some on college campuses that take student ID cards (they're also rechargable atm cards) I personally think they would be friggin awesome

probably not as it would cost too much to run to be viable selling coke etc,but what a bloody good idea,i rarely carry cash!!
