Mrs Badgrumble, this is an intelligent question. I see you have recovered from your Xmas/new year celebrations, as I have. No one ever tells the whole truth about what they think/feel in any kind of relationship. There is always a little corner which cannot be shared, however much the romantics tell us otherwise. That is what makes us "ourselves". Our perceptions are unique to us and cannot be shared entirely with any other person.

in a relationship , it is best to alwyas be open and straight. That doesnt mean tell her everything in day 1 of your relationship. If the partner enquires, be open and honest. Do not hold back otherwise you will regret it. Me and my girl are always open and honest when we talk and we have been together 6 years. It is the best possible way.
Plus you all feel free in a way to do whatever you want cos you will be trusted. Like going out at nights with friends of the opposite sex.

I don't lie. I may not always tell the whole truth, but I always tell them the truth. I guess, in the frame of your question, I hold back some things.

Truth does matter a lot and lies end up blowing a big flame on a relationship...i have seen a situation where a lady lied about her age....when actually she is 5 years older than the guy ..

ask yourself a few questions
1. is this relationship important to you?
2. do you want to spend the rest of your life with this partner?
3. would you like your partner to hide some things from you?
if you answered YES to 1 + 2 and NO to 3 then you surely should know your answer. but no-one can answer for you, you have to decide yourself.
but one thing i will say is, a relationship is built from trust with one another. and should never have any secrets

I tell the truth about everything, and I tell the guys to always tell me the truth about anything and everything, because I don't want to hear it from anyone else, if I do, there will be hell to pay.

If you dont have truth honesty and trust you cant have a friendship. Yes at times tact comes into things too but a true friend is there through thick and thin and if hurt comes into it at times then as a friend you need to be there for that too.

Very important from the moment you got together if your asked about your history answer honestly,im more likely to forgive if told
but lies which i eventually bound to find out about i couldnt forgive no matter the love once lied its difficult to stop even for the best of reasons
