Without memory we would be incapable of learning ANYTHING, or of even knowing who we are. Our personalities come from the way we interpret, analyze and live thru our experiences after the fact. Thus without memory, we would have no personality at all.

I'm sure there is some psycho-neurological answer but for me...my oldest son died 3 yrs. ago & I treasure memories of him, he was 22 when he died. I also have some bad memories of my child hood but overall, I think they are the sum of who we are and the life we live.

If you have no memories, you will not able to ask question like that..Evey bit of information stored in our memory, they act and react.
