Charles; I wasn't questioning whether it was right or not. He deserved to be hanged. In fact I think it should have been televised. My question was, will it help?

Joe n christina s; I served during the Vietnam war. I support our troops. I do not support the senseless slaughter of them or the Iraqi innocents. Killing of people because they are "there" is WRONG.

Of course not.....................the troops should just get out and leave the problem solving to Iraqs people ( with their government and stuff)...........instead of interfering and damaging the once glorious country even further.

Does the killing of a serial murderer resolve anything? Its called justice which was served with the killing of Saddam. This was a guy who had women raped in front of him and then had them disemboweled. He delivered a head of one of his enemies to one of his cousins. He gassed people with mustard gas that made their skin burn so bad that they tried to peel it off as their eyeballs fell from their sockets. He had people pulled apart screaming with a jeep on each side, he shot people a point blank range, he electrocuted, strangled, hung. Basically he killed people in about as many ways as are possible. I know if he did this to one of my loved ones, it would be justice served to me if he was killed. Will it do anything for the war? No. Was it the right thing to kill Saddam? Beyond a doubt.......Yes.

No. It pissed off the Sunnis that followed him and it pissed off everyone else because it happened on the morning of Eid, a Muslim holiday. Plus, that's not what the insurgents are fighting about/for anymore.

Hanging has little to do with it....its only window dressing. when will you liberals ever get it RIGHT??? This war is about stopping al qaeda...The insurgents are part of al qaeda...al qaeda wants you dead..they dont care where..there or here. They call it jihad for a reason..they feel killing the west is inspired by god. Ours is not to reason with terrorists..they could care less..its called kill or be killed.

I don't think so either.. Someone said that it could make terrorism worse.. Cause they'd be after revenge etc.. That's messed up..

Not really, but they wanted to do it. It's a scapegoat for justification.
