Does anyone have an error similar to this when trying to update BIOS to A07 on a Dell Inspiron 2200?

Please insert both AC and a batter adapter. (even though the battery is inserted and working correctly)

If so, how do(did) you solve it?

It is plugged into the mains power, as it always is. My question was not "Should I plug it into the mains power?", it was "How do I get it do detect the BATTER?" Thank you.

I'm aware that its just a suggestion....only the messagebox that appears is in a loop.

That's not an error. It's just a suggestion to make sure your computer doesn't go down during the upgrade.

I am not sure, but what if you open Power Option Prorerties from Control Panel and change settings for 'Running on Batteries'. Maybe, it is wise to continue your technical support with Dell.

It pay's to plug the mains power in when doing any kind of updates especially so when your dealing with the bios just in case the power from the battery dies half way through the update it basically kills your computer...yes I had resolved this by doing as it stated.

Good Luck.
