Donate a large amount of money to his political party.

You scratch his back, he'll scratch yours.

The laws against felons in possession of firearms are far to all conclusive and draconian. In Washington State a single felony can be deleted after 5 years and firearms ownership restored...
Otherwise, check closely your black powder or percussion cap firearm possession laws. Most states and the fed don't recognize BP & cap and ball firearms as "firearms".
There are some nice stainless 45 six shooter replicas that shoot real well, 6 rounds. Better yet a 12 ga black powder double with exposed hammers..

No matter how you may have turned your life around after prison, you are a convicted felon. You gave up your civil rights when you committed your crime. It is commendable that you have remained out of prison for twenty years, but you don't deserve a pat on the back for doing what you should have been doing all along.
Convicted felons should never have guns. Period. When and if a big war comes, a shotgun won't help. Hard work, communication, diplomacy and patience do work, when people choose to use them.

An application for pardon should go to the Governor of your state, not the President. I do not know of any state where a pardon is not available. However, I can assure you that if the basis for your request for a pardon is so you can get a gun to use in World War III, you are not going to get it.

It depends on the State in which you live. You do not need the President, only the Governor. Talk to a lawyer to get the paperwork started, and then petition the State. Good luck.

I honestly think you can get a pardon from the govenor.
I recall a few years ago in ohio where the govenor pardoned a bunch of murders that killed their husbands.
I am sure your crime is way less violent than that.
Contact your congressmen and see if you can get him to tell you the specific steps to do to get into the govenors ear.
Ihope that it works out the way it should

Sorry, you are not eligible for a pardon. You also no longer have the right to bear arms. That is a consequence of your actions from many years ago.
