I know that years of wearing lipstick will fade your lips and make them very pale. If you were to stop wearing lipstick would your natural lip color return or is it too late?

I actually have never heard of this, but if you are used to wearing dark lipstick, then maybe it's just that without it on, you feel your lips are pale, but they really aren't. Also lips pale naturally with age. Having good health and circulation by exercising can help bring your color back. Also try exfoliating your lips. There's lip exfoliators on the market, but you can try a homemade remedy. Add a couple of drops of honey to a tablespoon of sugar. Mix with fingers or spoon until a paste forms. Spread over lips and massage in a circular motion. Do this for about 40 seconds. Rinse off and apply a good lip balm. Always put on a lip balm after you brush your teeth and before you go to bed. Keeping lips moisturized and exfoliated will give them a rosey glow. Any remaining sugar/honey mixture, feel free to just eat!

Wear you wear lipstick a lot it doesn't actually make your lips pale- it just makes them appear that way because your so used to seeing your self with color on your lips. It's the same as when you put lipstick on, decide you don't like it and wipe it off right away. Your lips look pale in comparison

Actually the natural color of your lips is the color beneath the lipstick. The sun changes that color to a more desirable hue upon exposure! So in answer to your question, yes....sort of.

how can wearing lipstick make your lips pale? the color is in the inside of them... not the outside...

Sure, the color from your lips fades because you basically have sunblock on them at all times. Make sure if you are going to let your lips go nude that you wear an spf 15 chapstick to prevent sun damage, but your lips will regain their color.

i would think it would turn back. but i thought they turned darker. lip gloss is better anyway. =D
