I honestly don't know what to think. Some Americans don't care what's going on in politics, some people I know didn't know there was a war going on until there was a debate in one of my classes about it, and it seems like nobody CARES about what laws are passed or anything! The people that try to CHANGE things are given bad press, and are often discriminated against! Is this just the way the world works or is it just in America, "the land of the free and the home of the brave"?

it has gone past complacent to apathy. its not even just a lack of caring but a disdain for the necessities to give them what has made this country great. sadly this is the cycle of a democracy and is almost a necessity to show the people we need to be more active. It has never turned in a positive light thoughout the history of democracies but hopefully the US will be the exception.

Yes, I agree with you! But, in many cases, I also think that too many Americans are buying the lies that are fed to them daily, by the mainstream media. In some cases, even those of us who believe in Liberal Progressive values may seem complacent because we don't know what we can do. There are lots of scary things going on in this country, and even the world that have to be stopped, which means that we who care, have to join forces in the fight against tyranny. And we also have to try to wake the others up.

Well, the ignorant masses do not vote, and do not care about the country around them. They just do not appreciate all that goes in to keeping our great nation safe. We need to make it known that America needs the next generation to step up and keep us strong. Going to a public high school, I can see that everyone that can step up needs to, because the Puerto Ricans can't pick up the slack.

Yeah, I think we have. If Americans can't even bring themselves to vote on a law that directly affects them, then there is something seriously wrong here.

Things would have been MUCH better if 10 million people went out in the street to protest the installation of the Dumbya Coup before the 1-20-01 Tragedy. THEN maybe there would have been a total HONEST FL recount. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!
