Hello =)

This seems to be a problem along the atlantic coast in general this year.

For some reason, we are being kept out of the snow, for various reasons. This may be a small, independent event, related to the coming El Nino of next summer, or, may in fact be the result of a greater trend, like the shifting of the Gulf Stream. Only time will tell, I'm afraid. I live in the pocono mountains of PA, and we are experiencing the same thing. So are the people of Philadelphia, NYC, and Boston.

With forecasts in the 40's and 50's for the next 2 weeks, it certainly won't be during that period, I assure you. Maybe this will be a year with late storms in April and March, like in '95 and '96...who knows??

If this is a general phenomenon, that will be repeated more frequently in years to come, due to global warming, then it is something to be deeply saddened over. If it is the result of short-term phenomenon, like the coming El Nino, well, then it is just a peculiarity. The fact that 8 of the warmest years in recorded history have occurred in the last 10 years, however, is a little frightening to me. 2006 no doubt will make 9.

Namaste, and Happy New Year,

--Tom

I live in Catonsville to right outside baltimore, and eventually it will snow, i am guessing late January giving the polar jet stream enough time to drift farther south, bringing us colder more arctic air, and on top of the El Nino pattern will give us enhanced snow, most likely heavy. Check Accuweathers winter forecast 2006-2007 for more details.

Never! (at least not this year)
I live quite close to Baltimore MD, in lower Pennsylvania. We're having an Indian summer week and it's supposed to be in the 60's by Friday or Saturday.
